How long does setup take? ⌄

The full process takes about 30–45 minutes. Document upload is a few minutes, and the AI interview runs 20–30 exchanges. Tip: use a voice-to-text tool like Wispr Flow to answer by speaking instead of typing — it cuts the interview time roughly in half.

What happens to my documents? ⌄

Your uploaded files are processed to extract structured knowledge entries for your chatbot. Documents are stored temporarily in secure cloud storage and are not used to train AI models. The knowledge extracted from your documents and interview lives in your knowledge base, which you can download at any time.

Can I update my chatbot later? ⌄

Yes. You can re-run the wizard at any time to generate a fresh knowledge base. A profile dashboard for editing your chatbot directly (without re-running the full interview) is on the roadmap and coming soon.

What does the free tier actually include? ⌄

The free tier runs the full interview and generates your complete knowledge base. You get downloadable files: a structured knowledge.jsonl file and an embeddable chatbot-widget.js you can add to any website with a single script tag. What the free tier doesn't include is a hosted profile page at distills.app — for that, you'll need Pro or Studio.

What languages are supported? ⌄

English only at this time. The interview and knowledge extraction are designed and tuned for English-language documents and responses. Multi-language support is something we plan to explore in a future release.
